What valuable life advice have you received?
I read an interesting comment about valuable advice from Kevin Hodges the owner of a successful property management company in Adelaide, Australia.
Here’s what Kevin said…
My wife Jacqui and I got married when I was 19 and she was 18.
We decided it would be fun as a newly married couple to tour around Australia so off we went.
A few months later we were working in New South Wales and My boss invited us around to his home for a barbecue. At the barbecue, I met a man who had lost his leg in a motorbike accident.
My boss had a teenage son who said to this man “You are nothing but an old has-been”.
I thought that was pretty mean however the man with one leg made a comment I’ve never forgotten. He looked straight at the brash young teenage boy and said “I’d rather be a has-been than a never was”.
I was so impressed with this one comment and it’s actually shaped my whole life. I decided that if I had an opportunity to do anything in life that I should ‘give it a go’ and see what happened.
And when I did that it was remarkable how often things worked out well.
So my advice today is very simple
Give things a go.
You never know what good things might happen.
I really like what Kevin had to say and I’ve found it very true in my own life as well.
Give things a go and you’ll be surprised at how many good things will happen when you do this.
What positive actions can you take today to give something go?
